Zeidliing Moholtz was competition entry commissioned by SIT, aiming to revitalize and further develop the existing student village Moholt in Trondheim. The project was led and managed by Brendeland & Kristoffersen Architects, in company with Fantastic Norway in 2012.
The existing student village Moholt is an iconic piece of urban development, established 50 years ago. Working with a strategy to upgrade it for the next 50 years, our goal was to strengthen the existing typology by further developing the unique qualities of the area.
Our main concept was to establish a district park with a rich variety of public features and activities, with purpose of strengthening the sense of common ground and local identity. Beyond this the proposal included strategies for the establishment of various building typologies and management of existing properties.
The proposal was well received, however our talented friends and neighbors, MDH architects, were declared winners of the competition.
