4The Thin Line is a mythical footbridge, hovering amongst the treetops of a dense pine forest.

As a respond to the challenge of improving the stretch between Rosenholm Station and the nearby campus, we proposed Norway’s longest footbridge – hovering amongst the treetops of a dense pine forest.

The four towers, supporting the narrow steel bridge, are like fairytale characters you encounter on your way: Each of them offering both practical and poetic experiences to the journey.

A walk along The Thin Line brings you through a tight, clean cut in a rocky hill, past an outdoor fire place, through an icy steel mesh, inside a bell tower and through a high rise bird dwelling.

The Bell Tower holds multiple cast metall bells hanging from ropes connected to the walk way above. Walking past them makes the bells tremble. The Bird Tower contains several bird houses, possible to visit from the forrest floor. Walking through this tower you might hear the sound of birds singing.

The Ice Tower is covered in a steel mesh inserted with small water jets: Spraying steamed water during summer and covering the tower with a thin layer of ice during winter. The Fire Tower creates an intimate fireplace at the forrest floor and filles the thin line above with the smell of smoke.
