The building, which appears as a small structure by Sognefjorden, was originally a case factory used in connection with a nearby mill. Today, it is in poor condition, but it stands proudly on a beautiful stone foundation that has withstood the test of time.

As part of a revitalization project, we’ve designed a solution that preserves the building’s historic character while turning it into a small rental summer house. Visitors can enjoy the historic surroundings and wake up feeling like they’re on a boat in the fjord.

The new structure features an exposed timber construction, with the historic paneling being reused. The roof is made of corrugated aluminum, paying homage to the local aluminum factory in Årdal.
